The seemingly endless vistas of geologic layers exposed in the American West contain the story of the beginning, rise and demise of the dinosaur. These layers of sedimentary rock and the insight into the ancient environments
they contain are the inspiration for “Mesozoic Stratigraphy.”
This piece includes my fabric art quilted hanging precisely paired with a stone mosaic created by Susan Judy of Stone Quilt Design http://stonequiltdesign.com/
While geochronologically correct, my inspiration for the design is a composite of formations that lodge in the mind and colors that called from our stash of fabric and stone.
